Simply Noticing:
3-Week Mindfulness Teleclass

Coming Again

Email Trish if you're interested!

Get it done.
Make that call.
Squeeze it in.
Grab some grub.
Check it off.
Don't be late.

Whoa!  Don't forget to breathe.

Try this with me, would you?

Uncrinkle your brow.     Rest your eyes.     Unclench your jaw.

Good.

Now take your hand off the mouse.
Let your hands fall into your lap, drop your shoulders into place.

Still with me?

If you're game, close your eyes for a deep breath.

Notice.
How is that?

Feeling brave?
Take another deep breath and let it out with a teeny-weeny sigh....

When was the last time you did that?

Amazing what a little noticing does, yes?

An invitation for you...

Oh, this wild and wonderful world we live in can find us in a tumble of activity.
Even with best intentions, it gets a little crazy.
In here, and out there.

Here's an invitation to a sweet, little pause.
A way to notice what's In Here.

 Three Mondays in March,
I'll walk with you in the art of "Simply Noticing".

If you're a first-time "noticer"
, or are new to exploring contemplative spiritual practice,

this is the perfect introduction.

If you are a seasoned "noticer"
, or even a teacher of meditation,

this is a way to refresh and renew what you have known by heart for so long.

We'll explore simple noticing in our breathing, walking, eating.

We'll practice paying attention to our bodies, our words, our ways in the world.
We'll take part in metta meditation, also known as the prayer of lovingkindness.

Ready to invite a little simplicity in?
Register now!

Hey, current Spirations participants!
This is FREE for you!

Email Trish to say "I'm IN!" and you're in.

Questions, anyone?

For you curious ones.

Do I have to like silence?

Nope, but we are going to practice hanging out with it, and getting more comfortable
with its presence in our lives.

What if I don't know how to meditate? or,
Hello? I think there's a 3-ring circus in here!

Perfect! That's the best place to start, even if you've been doing this "noticing thing" for ages.
It's that whole "beginner's mind" thing.

By noticing, we're not aiming to "flatline" your personality or sterilize your life.
You're amazing! You've got all kinds of colorful stuff going on in you.

I'll help you see it. Together, we'll take a nice, loving, "noticing look" at it all.

Are you going to make me do anything I don't want to do?

Golly, no. Thankfully, that's not my job, and, quite honestly, I'm not interested in it.
I will, however, invite you to try some new things, maybe stretch where
you haven't stretched before.
(I'm big on the Inviting thing, by the way.)
You, oh wise one, get to decide how you respond
.
(pssst! It will be fun! Your favorite chocolate may be involved!)

What if I'm not very "spiritual"?

It's okay. Believe me: it's not a prerequisite.
The beauty of mindfulness is that it's about really simple, everyday stuff.
Like breath. Like your body, and how you're sitting right now. Like eating, and really tasting.

So, rest assured, while it's true that paying attention often links us to the deeper,
unseen stuff that's in us all (it's quite magical, actually!),
subscribing to a particular way -
or any way - of naming, living, and languaging it is not required.

Who else is going to be in this class?

Likely, people like you! After all, you're the ones who've read this far!
You will come with your lovely-strange-amazing life.
You'll meet others with their own brands of lovely-strange-amazing.
Come with your curious self, open to surprise and unexpected kindness,
and you'll learn something new. I suspect after each class we'll hang up the phone with
our mouths open in awe at the stunning stories all around us.

Is Abby the Dog really going to help facilitate?

Not exactly, though, she is one of my greatest compassion teachers and
the spirit of that is bound to show up somehow. These grandmotherly days in Abby's life
are often spent on one of her various dog beds, including the one
under my office desk.
It's likely that this under-desk bed is where she'll be snuggled up,

gently snoozing, or lovingly gazing my way, during our mindfulness class calls.
So, in that sense, yeah, I think she will help to facilitate!

What's included:

- Three 1-hour tele-gathering sessions
- A downloadable Mindfulness Workbook made for you - by me!
- Recordings of the classes you can replay to your heart's content

So, who am I, and why am I offering this class?

Let me say first that I'm not an "expert." I'm an avid student, an apprentice of life.
Much like you, I suspect, I seek to live my life as compassionately and
lovingly as possible.

Time and again I've found that when I pay attention, when I enter the world mindfully
and from a place of greater awareness,
amazing things happen. Most of all, inside me.

Mindfulness practice helps. Kindness helps. Breathing helps.
And that's what t
his class is all about.

My name is Trish Bruxvoort Colligan.
I am a Story Midwife.
I've seen stories heal the world, and so I created Spirations Institute, which offers
online community
and professional training for threshold women who've made
midwifing stories their passio
n.

I'm partner to my beloved Richard (Joke-Telling, PatienceMan),
and mother to 8-year-old Sam (Lego-loving, Jedi-in-training).
A lover of 4-leggeds, my heart belongs to Abby the "midwife grandma dog".

I'm
a sometime
s-writer; a music maker - solo and with my husband Richard
(RiversVoice.com); and have just begun work on a new solo CD called Coming Home.
(Yay! New music for 2010!)

I can - and often do - contemplate the Grand Mysteries in the Universe.
Everyday life is where I feel most called to live this out, though.
Being in family is perhaps my greatest invitation to living mind-fully.
Marriage is a spiritual practice for me. As is being a mother.

My long-time practice with yoga and awareness meditation have proved
invaluable in our ever-lively, ever-loving ADD/ADHD home.
(Sam and I live with
ADD, and we suspect that one of our three cats does, too:
the black, 16.5 pound, crooked-tailed one.)

I get a little lusty for poetry that makes my heart feel ten miles wide.
A special bow of gratitude to Rumi, Hafiz, John O'Donohue, Mary Oliver,
and David Whyte, who daily midwife me in
my
Great Big Yes to finding beauty everywhere.
